Asheville police said they have charged a man accused of robbing the State Employees Credit Union on Smokey Park Highway.

Police said the robbery happened around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The suspect reportedly entered the bank and wrote a threatening note on the back of a deposit slip. The man then handed the note to the teller and fled with cash.

No one was hurt.

On Thursday, police said Mario Devon Sauls had been arrested in the case.Sauls, 46, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and false bomb report. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center on an $80,000 bond.
