A man who admitted to kidnapping a woman from a Mauldin hotel and sexually assaulting her learned his sentence on Wednesday.
Demetria Karzarieas Anderson, 25, was arrested after a woman getting out of her car at the Days Inn in Mauldin was kidnapped at gunpoint in September 2017.
Anderson forced the victim into the passenger seat of her own car, drove her to an athletic field behind a downtown Greenville church, and raped and assaulted her multiple times.
The victim was later brought back to Mauldin where she was able to escape and call 911.
Anderson was linked to the crime via DNA evidence, the Solicitor's Office said.
After pleading guilty to kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct, Anderson was sentenced to 24 years in prison. According to the paperwork, he is being given credit for 230 days already served.
