There’s a new supermarket in town.

Sprouts Farmers Market opened Wednesday at the intersection of Woodruff Road and Highway 14.

The grocery chain said its focus is on “fresh, natural, and organic.”

“90 percent of the products in the store are natural or organic,” a spokesperson for the company said.

The store is the first Sprouts location in South Carolina but the chain’s 300th location across the US.

The supermarket is offering specials through the week as part of the grand opening celebration.

Below are the opening day grand opening offers:

First 200 shoppers receive 20 percent off their first purchase. Free food samples One free, reusable shopping bag per customer with purchase. Every 15th customer will get a special coupon book.

Grand opening weekend deals:

On Saturday, first 200 customers to make a purchase will receive a coupon booklet for five free deli items. On Sunday, every 15th customer to check receive a coupon for $5 off their next purchase of $15 or more.

The plans to build the store were met with controversy in 2017 as some residents living nearby opposed the new retail construction.
