Nearly 1300 Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative customers in the Walhalla area lost power Tuesday night following a collision earlier in the evening.

Officials with the cooperative say an outage affecting the Mountain Rest substation was caused when a car hit a transmission pole near Lecroy Road.

Around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, crews reported that power was restored in most areas with the exception of few members in Pickett Post near the accident scene.

Blue Ride Electric said later Wednesday that the pole had been replaced.
