This week starts cool and windy, but conditions improve quickly and dramatically through the week!
Through the day, cloud cover breaks up and snow showers gradually end but the day stays cool and windy with highs in the 40s for the mountains and mid to upper 50s for the Upstate. A wind advisory is in effect until 8 PM for Yancey and Mitchell Counties for gusts up to 50 mph above 3500 ft.
A freeze warning goes in effect for a good portion of western NC and Rabun Co., GA tonight and early Tuesday. While frost and freeze concerns are not expected for the Upstate, patchy frost and chilly conditions are possible with temperatures in the 30s expected.
The rest of the week looks dry and seasonably warm, with the warmest day on Wednesday with highs inching toward the low 80s.
The next chance of rain arrives over the weekend on Sunday, but this point it does not look as potent, severe, or widespread as recent Sunday storms.
